Many thanks to all who attended the ‘This is our City’ dinner at the Beach Ballroom on 27th February.

On a wintry night, it was a fabulous evening highlighting some of the many positives in Aberdeen.  This Is Our City and the dinner was a great reminder that Aberdeen is a proud, robsut and successful city.

The event was also the launch of a new civic pride initiative entitled ‘We’re For Aberdeen’.

In keeping with the Burgesses motto of ‘For Aberdeen’, this is a planned civic pride initiative as a ‘gift’ to the City of Aberdeen from the Burgesses.  The idea is a rally cry to celebrate what is good in Aberdeen and to encourage a more positive view of the city.

The principles of the initiative are that it will be an external expression of support to the city of Aberdeen, something that can be picked up by all parts of the community and eventually to create an independent civic pride initiative with its own brand.

We need your support to turn this idea into a reality; to develop the idea further and determine how the initiative might be rolled out across the city.

For more information on this initiative please contact Garry Stevens at clerk@aberdeenburgesses.com and indicate your interest as follows:

  • I am keen to join the working party to develop the idea further
  • I / my company are interested in providing financial support
  • I / my company are willing to suggest an initiative or offer of support
  • I’d like to keep up to date with the initiative – please add me you your database
Yours sincerely,
