Me Too Charity Dinner

Garry Stevens No Comments

We are pleased to support the Charity Dinner for Me Too. Details of the Charity below, and also link to poster with details of date of dinner and how to obtain tickets.

Me Too! was founded in Summer 2015, by a local parent, frustrated with the fragmentation of information in Aberdeen City and Shire when looking for activities for her disabled son. The idea was to produce a free, quarterly “What’s On” Guide for her community. Today, Me Too! Magazine distributes to a readership of 31,000 in North East Scotland and is widely recognised as the leading organisation of “Relaxed Sessions” in the area – making events and sessions accessible to people who may otherwise find it challenging due to sensory considerations. Me Too! also offers peer support through “Me Too! & You”, a monthly children’s club “Me Too! Club” and a school holiday programme. Me Too! also delivers bespoke ASN training to organisations as well as our 6 week parent course “I’m An Autism Parent, Get Me Out of Here” and our 6 week sibling course “I’m An Autism Sibling, Get Me Out of Here” Winner of 6 Awards to date and at only 3 years old, we continue to be parent-led and driven by the needs of our community and the desire to reverse the inclusion model, where Relaxed Sessions are predominately for ASN participants, but in fact anyone is welcome as long as they are aware of the sessions they are participating in.

Aberdeen Industrial Heritage Museum

Our Industrial Heritage

Plans are being formulated to create a Heritage Museum in the City to celebrate the North East of Scotland’s wide ranging and far reaching industrial past.

This will be a hands-on interactive facility for both locals and visitors alike and will help preserve the historical relevance these industries have played in shaping the City we live in today.

Given the current economic climate, it will be some time before anything concrete happens.

In the meantime, a database of sources of information and artefacts is being compiled, which can be used as part of the planning and funding process – so your help is required.

Do you, or someone you know, have a box of documents or photographs in a loft, or a rusting piece of machinery or old tools in a shed, which would not look out of place in a museum?

If so, please send basic details to Sam Murray at sam.murray@btinternet.com

Welcome to New Burgesses admitted on Monday 4th March 2019
